Fossil Group announced a new licensing agreement with BMW that’ll lead to several new smartwatches entering the market in 2019.
Both sides will work together to release the BMW-branded smartwatch through 2023. As expected, Fossil says it’ll release any products from the partnership through its traditional array of retail channels. BMW, too, will offer some units in its 4,000+ car dealerships around the world.
The multi-year partnership adds yet another license to Fossil’s portfolio. It already makes smartwatches for Armani Exchange, Diesel, Kate Spade, Michael Kors, and others. In all, Fossil holds more than a dozen licenses from fashion-related brands.
Also, the watchmaker has plenty of experience with connected devices. Fossil has been using Wear OS (formerly ‘Android Wear’) for the last few years.
If you’re a hardcore BMW fan or just someone who enjoys the finer things in life, be on the lookout for Fossil’s first smartwatches inspired by the German automaker next year.
