Silent Circle’s Blackphone 2, which was introduced earlier this year, is now available for purchase. If you’re not familiar with Silent Circle, the company’s goal has been to create secure Android smartphones that put security and privacy at the top of the feature list.

The phone is powered by SilentOS, based primarily on Android and offers encrypted voice calls, text messages, file transfers and more. The specs aren’t particularly high-end, however. You’re looking at a 5.5-inch 1080p display, 3GB of RAM, a Snapdragon 615 processor, 32GB of storage, a microSD card slot, a 13-megapixel camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.

The Blackphone 2 is available for $799, so long as you live in North America. That’s a steep asking price considering the aforementioned specs, which might otherwise ship on a phone that costs half as much. Still interested? Hit the source to grab yours now.
