BlackBerry confirmed its rumored new luxury smartphone today, unveiling the Porsche Design P’9982 on its U.K. website ahead of the official release. The glorified Z10 will launch at Harrods department store in London for approximately £1,500 (about $2400) though the company didn’t say exactly when the P’9982 will hit the market.
The P’9982 features a stainless steel front, interchangeable leather-wrapped back panels, and runs a slightly modified version of BlackBerry 10. Aside from a few cosmetic changes, however, the new device shares the same components as the Z10, including a 4.2-inch 1280 x 768-pixel display, 2GB of RAM, a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor and an 8-megapixel rear camera.
The Porsche Design handset comes with a few small perks though. It’s packed with 64GB of storage, and includes an exclusive BBM PIN so friends and colleagues will instantly know you’re using a $2,400 smartphone. The device also comes with multiple chargers for use around the world, and supports the GSM standard.
