One unnamed company is so confident in BlackBerry's reinvented image that it purchased 1 million BlackBerry 10 devices. BlackBerry refrained from divulging which company actually did so, but it's apparently the single largest purchase order in BlackBerry's history. Let's give the Waterloo company a round of applause.

"An order for one million devices is a tremendous vote of confidence in BlackBerry 10," said Rick Costanzo, EVP Global Sales. The platform definitely showed potential, and it's a tremendous first effort from BlackBerry. But it doesn't outshine Android or iOS—it needs a flagship feature to attract new customers.

Be that as it may, it still has a fervent userbase committed to the BlackBerry cause, which is huge for the company's new platform to grow. BlackBerry didn't say if the 1 million BB10 devices were the Z10 only, Q10 only, or a mix of both. If this is the enterprise sector we're talking about, I'd imagine that Q10 to be the more sought after handset. But, then again, QWERTY is a dying breed, after all.
