walmart-black-fridayBlack Friday is an annual apocalypse. An insane time of year where people, in large, hysteric groups, wait in lengthy lines during THANKSGIVING. It’s like a carnival, but more dangerous, violent and your biggest prize could be a trip to the hospital. Most deals, in truth, are nothing more than tepid attempts to cleanse retailers of old stock, with electronics being hot items that people go particularly wild over.

You know when cities riot after their team wins/loses a championship? That’s Black Friday, in a nutshell, depending on where you go. Places like Best Buy and Walmart are especially wild — stories come out each year of a trampling, fights or other abominable act. But every year it repeats. I digress.

Are you in need of a new TV, computer, or some other such peripheral that you wouldn’t otherwise buy were it not for the $50 savings? There are plenty of big deals collected on, with most notable deals seeing reductions of $100 or more. For high priced computers and TVs, $100 off doesn’t make that much of a difference. But companies often take a pretty good chunk out of smartphones, which is why you’re really here, right?

We’re slowly compiling a list of devices, grouped by retailers. There are some good names on the list, including the Lumia 920, Samsung Galaxy S III and HTC One X. We’ll be updating throughout the day and week if we come across more deals, so be sure to check back if you plan on picking up a device. Many of these, we’ve found, expire on Nov. 24, while some are valid through Nov. 25, so keep that in mind when you trek out to your nearest store. If you find any significant smartphone deals, please share.
