Bill Gates is rich. The Microsoft co-founder is one of the wealthiest people in the world, and so Ellen DeGeneres thought it'd be fun to have him on her talk show and test his knowledge about what us common people often purchase. Even billionaires need to purchase laundry detergent for themselves, right? One would think, but Gates isn't quite sure what anything costs these days.

It turned out to be a hilarious segment on The Ellen DeGeneres Show since Gates probably hasn't gone shopping for himself in many years.

The everyday items with their prices hidden included Rice-A-Roni, Tide Pods, Signature Care Waxed Dental Floss, Totino's Pizza Rolls, and TGI Fridays Spinach & Artichoke Cheese Dip. All he needed to do was guess three of out the five items' prices within a dollar each for the audience to receive a prize. Of course, it wasn't too easy for the billionaire.

Gates stumbled through the first two items, off by more than a combined $10. He was pretty close to the floss' price but needed the audience's help with the final two items. The man himself was actually surprised about the cheese dip because "it's branded."

With some assistance, he completed the game and everyone in the audience got an invitation to come back to the show for Ellen's 12 Days of Giveaways during the holidays.

Props to Bill Gates, though. It takes guts to be worth nearly $100 billion and stand in front of regular people while having no idea how much they pay for everyday items.
