Beyond Good & Evil 2 is definitely a game that’s being made, we just don’t have a super official reveal to go with all the news of its existence.

Michel Ancel, creator of the series, is like a whisper on the wind these days when it comes to dropping hints about the still unconfirmed Beyond Good & Evil 2. Maybe he shows some concept art during a livestream, or maybe he decides to drop little nuggets about the title when chatting with other developers.

That latter example is what’s happened most recently. During one of Double Fine’s “Devs Play” videos covering the first Beyond Good & Evil, Ancel was asked about the sequel by Tim Schafer. Here’s the video itself, but we hit the exact quote below it.

Tim says the sequel is going to be amazing, and Ancel responds, “That’s a problem – no choice. It has to be great. When we started [the first] game there was not that much pressure.”

Then, later, when asked if he’s definitely making the sequel, Ancel answers quite succinctly.

“Yeah, yeah. But it’s difficult because it’s hard for me to re-do the same kind of game two times, so I always want to do something different. I don’t know how you will manage that for Psychonauts 2, do you stick to the main structure or…”

And that’s it! I love that Schafer is prodding Ancel like a rabid fan.

Beyond Good & Evil 2 was teased way, way, way back during a Ubisoft event in 2008. It’s been eight years, dudes, let’s go.
