We brought a huge team to CES 2013 in Las Vegas to scour the show floor looking for the latest and greatest products that push the boundaries of technology. Remember, CES isn't a show that's focused on any single category. It's not just about mobile, refrigerators, vacuum cleaners or blenders. It's about all gadgets and the technology that powers them. It's about highlighting and seeing the innovations that will hit the market in the coming months and years, create new competition among industry players and, eventually, benefit us as consumers. So what stood out to us? We're proud to present the Best of CES 2013 award to the following product and the engineers, public relations teams, marketing professionals and everyone behind it.

Sony Xperia Z

There weren't a ton of new mobile phones on the CES showfloor this year, but Sony's Xperia Z has the muscle to compete with the biggest players right now. It packs a 5-inch 1920 x 1080-pixel full HD display, which puts it in the phablet category, a 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor, 2GB of RAM, 4G LTE support and a 13-megapixel camera. It's even resistant against water and dust. We don't know which carrier will offer it in the United States just yet, but AT&T has been a Sony partner in the past. Expect this device during the first quarter of this year.
