Bayonetta 2 was a huge snag for Nintendo, and the exclusive is bound to sell a few consoles once it releases with Platinum Games fans having nowhere else to turn to play it.
The game’s creator, Hideki Kamiya, now wants to see the first game released on the Wii U. In a Twitter post, he mentions that if Nintendo gives the greenlight, Platinum Games will be happy to port the game to the Wii U and release it before the sequel lands home. If not before, then it could possibly happen afterwards too.
Anxious fans then took the Twitter post seriously and made their way over to NeoGaf. The team launched “Operation Dead Angels,” a campaign dedicated to creating enough noise to get Nintendo to notice the demand for this game.
Nintendo does have a history of listening to such campaigns, like “Operation Rainfall” which landed Xenoblade Chronicles, The Last Story and Pandora’s Tower on American shores. It remains to be seen if it will hear the cries of Bayonetta fans.
I love Hideki Kamiya and Platinum Games, but Bayonetta is one of their games I couldn’t really get behind. I need to take another stab at it, but the PlayStation 3 version is one of the worst ports ever, I’ve heard. Maybe the Wii U one will turn out better.
