All franchises needed to keep up with the times, l’est they become irrelevant in the ever evolving gaming world. As of right now, huge squad based shooters like Battlefield and Call of Duty are being replaced by the booming battle royale genre with games like PUBG and Fornite.
EA and Activision are making additions as necessary, and EA especially has confirmed that Battlefield V will feature a huge 64-player battle royale mode called “Firestorm.” Unlike other games, Battlefield V will not allow players to go out on their own, instead opting for sixteen teams of four.
At the end of the day, Battlefield is a team experience after all, and this is a necessary sacrifice to ensure that lives on.
Firestorm takes place on the largest Battlefield map ever created, a sandbox hell loaded with vehicles, turrets, and enough carnage to last a lifetime… or at least until next year.
Battlefield V will be released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on Nov. 20. The game was recently delayed with DICE and EA needing an extra month to wrap up development… and not directly compete with Red Dead Redemption 2 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.
