Excited about Battlefield 1? You should be, especially if you dig war shooters.

DICE and EA announced that they were leaving the safety of World War II and more modern conflicts for the fresh grounds of World War I. It’s been said that there was fear that the game would feature nothing but boring trench warfare mechanics, but the theater of war that made up World War I offers a whole lot more.

Concept art has shown up for Battlefield 1, and we get a whole lot more than muddy trench stuff. There are zeppelins, planes, horses, desert combat, forests and more. Even better? The concept art is gorgeous.

So, have a look, then get hyped to learn more. We’re slated to play Battlefield 1 on Sunday at EA’s E3 event. Stay tuned for our impressions.
