You should already know if you want to play Batman: Arkham Origins or not. Just because a new developer has jumped aboard does not mean the successful formula is going to change drastically.
Warner Bros. games Montreal has been burdened with the daunting task of following up Rocksteady’s wildly popular run with the Batman, but don’t let that worry you. This new game does very well imitating Arkham City’s approach and design, so no worries there.
A few new gadgets. A few new enemy types. The gameplay is more of an expansion than an evolution this time around. What sets this game apart is its cool wintry setting. Arkham is a snow globe of trouble, the icy buildings glowing with chilly detail.
I suffered from a little fatigue of the series after the last one, and my weariness hasnt quite weathered yet. I might check it out again further down the road. It might play a little too safely for me, but I definitely recommend anyone who wants more of this series to get pumped for more.
Batman: Arkham Origins will be released for the Wii U, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC on Oct. 25.
