A threat looms over the latest trailer for Batman: Arkham Knight. “You will bring death to all who follow you” is spoken behind the footage that flashes in the clip, and then we see quick shots of Gordon, Robin, Nightwing, Catwoman and more of Batman’s allies. Scary stuff.
Here’s the crazy thing… all of these characters are playable. The trailer sort of makes the announcement, but it’s the description below the clip that clears things up a bit more.
For the first time ever, watch Batman: Arkham Knight’s exciting new “Dual Play” mechanic in action as you switch seamlessly between The Dark Knight and his allies including Robin, Nightwing, and Catwoman in free-flow combat.
That’s right, you’ll be able to switch between Batman, Robin, Nightwing and Catwoman in real-time on the fly during combat. The trailer does not indicate whether this feature will run in the game’s campaign or its challenge maps, but we’re hoping for both.
The trailer itself is awesome, and we see tons of great moments of combat, explosions, robots filled with green goo and even Batman and Robin teaming up for some chaos. This game really does look fantastic, doesn’t it?
Batman: Arkham Knight will release for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms on June 23, 2015.
