Now that Avengers: Infinity War is officially available on home release, we’ve been able to pour through some of the facts and secrets you didn’t know. Thanks to the power of the internet, we can also re-live the movie’s post-credits scene, which teases the arrival of a very important character.
Spoilers ahead
If you haven’t seen Avengers: Infinity War by now, then I recommend you go watch it at your earliest convenience. If you have seen the movie, then you know exactly how it ends. Thanos successfully collects the Infinity Stones and snaps half the universe out of existence. But it’s what comes after that’s really interesting.
After the credits roll, we find Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders) driving through New York City, when suddenly all hell breaks loose. Unaware of what Thanos just did, Hill vanishes into dust, followed by a panicked Fury, but not before he sends a distress signal to Captain Marvel with his cosmic beeper.
It’s a pivotal moment because it means Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) will come help the remaining Avengers. Before that, the character will make her much-anticipated debut in a solo movie next March.
There’s nothing new to peruse in the clip above, but seeing the Captain Marvel logo show up still gives me goosebumps.
