The shocking Avengers 4 title leak reportedly has Marvel executives fuming, with one insider claiming “calls were made” after the news broke. What does this mean for the movie’s future? Well, not much. But whoever leaked it is in huge trouble.
No matter, as the damage has already been done. According to one insider, “Annihilation was definitely the title they were going to use, a lot of writers and insiders have found out about it.”
To be fair, Marvel has yet to confirm that Avengers: Annihilation is the movie’s official title. But it’s looking increasingly likely the leak is accurate—all the other supposed titles didn’t receive quite as much attention.
Not to mention there’s mounting evidence that suggests Avengers: Annihilation is correct, including the fact that Ant-Man and the Wasp’s post-credits scene provided a major clue. There was also the photo shared by Joe and Anthony Russo.
Marvel president Kevin Feige previously said they wouldn’t reveal the movie’s title until after the Captain Marvel teaser was released. Well, that teaser has been released and there are only a few more months left in 2018.
Avengers 4 hits theaters on May 3, 2019.
