I hope you haven’t tired of the mysterious Quantum Realm, because it’s going to play a major role in Avengers 4.
According to Ant-Man and the Wasp’s Michael Douglas, the Quantum Realm is the “key.” Douglas dropped the hint during a recent interview with Ryan Seacrest.
“I mean, the Quantum Realm, that’s the key,” Douglas hinted. “That’s the key. The Quantum Realm plays an important part in all of the next chapters, I think, of the Marvel films.”
It makes sense.
At the end of Ant-Man and the Wasp, Scott Lang ventures into the Quantum Realm in an effort to collect Quantum healing particles for Ghost. But just as he’s ready to return to Earth, Thanos’ snap wipes out Hope, Hank, and Janet, stranding Scott.
That move by Marvel was no accident, and Douglas’ new comments further confirm theories suggesting the Quantum Realm would play a big role in Avengers 4.
According to some of these theories, Scott will take a risk and jump into one of the time vortexes mentioned by Janet, ending up five years into the future. He’ll then tell Tony Stark what happened to him, prompting the Avengers to utilize the Quantum Realm and travel to a time before the snap happened.
Beyond Avengers 4, we’re not really sure how the Quantum Realm will factor into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but hearing that it’ll become a focus is hugely exciting.
When we do see the Quantum Realm in Avengers 4, we may see the Avengers in powerful new suits. We’ll find out when the film hits theaters on May 3, 2019.
