AT&T has begun rolling out Samsung’s latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update for the Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge. The release weighs in at 693.32MB and comes six weeks after this update was made available to Note 4 owners internationally.
AT&T is yet to publish any release notes for this update, but according to users who have already received it, it brings noticeable performance improvements that lead to a smoother, snappier experience overall — particularly when multitasking and using the Camera app.
It’s not clear whether this update includes a fix for the worrying Stagefright vulnerability, but the international release did not, so it seems unlikely.
Users are reporting this update is only available as an over-the-air download for now, but it should be available through Samsung KIES soon. If you haven’t already received an update notification, you can search for the release from within the software update section of the Settings app.
