AT&T recently announced that it will carry the HTC One VX in the “coming months” and we shot down to a press event last night to get a quick hands-on with the Android smartphone. It reminds us a bit of a cross between the One V and the One S and is definitely less powerful than the One X+ and the One X. It’s equipped with a 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (not the latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean build), NFC, LTE, a 4.5-inch display with a 960 x 540-pixel resolution, a 5-megapixel camera and a VGA front-facing camera.
It’s not a high-end smartphone, but it felt really light and sturdy. I’m guessing we’ll see this pop-in at the $99 mark, but you might actually be better off purchasing the One X, which is also currently priced in that range (or lower, depending on where you buy it). Who knows, maybe the One VX will launch for free with a contract?
