Ralph de la Vega

AT&T’s fourth quarter is shaping up quite well — the carrier sold 6.4 million smartphones during the first two months of the quarter, AT&T Mobility CEO Ralph de la Vega recently noted. As a result of the quick sales, de la Vega expects AT&T to sell a total of 26 million smartphones in 2012. “What we’re seeing is tremendous response in the marketplace,” de la Vega said, according to CNET. “Excitement is at all time high. I feel very good about momentum going into December.”

The CEO attributed the solid sales to AT&T’s large selection of devices, which includes high-end Android devices such as the Optimus G, the Galaxy Note II and the Galaxy S III, as well as the Lumia 920 and iPhone 5.
