Beginning with Assassin's Creed 2, Ubisoft's epic franchise has always featured a firm grasp on historical locales and personalities. These places and people might not always be represented in factual ways, but they are typically shown in believable ones that take plenty of cues from history.

Assassin's Creed Unity will feature some historical figures in its plot. The publisher has announced that we'll see Napoléon Bonaparte, the Marquis de Sade and Robespierre, and those heads will come alongside new characters that the game maker hopes will fit right in.

Today's trailer provides a look at these characters and the people voicing them in Unity. You'll actually learn quite a bit about some of the characters' backstories, and that includes the main character named Arno.

Assassin's Creed Unity will hit the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms on Nov. 11, 2014. We'll have much more on the game as it comes.
