Archos is taking a cue from Samsung's nature-inspired approach by unveiling its "Elements" line of entry-level tablets. Stickered with a bottom-dollar price ($249), the Archos 97 Carbon, which is the first in the Elements family, comes equipped with a 9.7-inch IPS display, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, 16GB of internal storage (microSD expandable to 32GB), full-size USB port, 1GHZ processor and 1GB RAM.
"We wanted to introduce a new series that not only combines affordability with a new slim design, but features the best that Google has to offer," says Henri Crohas, ARCHOS Founder and CEO. "With the ELEMENTS series we have done just that. It's the perfect balance of hardware, software optimization and content through the Google Play ecosystem."
In addition, the device comes with both front and rear cameras, an aluminum finish and measures in at 0.45-inch thick. Look out for the 97 Carbon to hit in July — a curious timeframe considering Google's Nexus 7 is hitting the same month for a lower price.
