Archos 70b ITCome January, the Nook Tablet and Kindle Fire won’t be the only  Android tablets on the market in the $200 range. Archos announced on Tuesday the Archos 70b IT, an Android 3.2 (Honeycomb) tablet that’ll run $199 with 8GB of storage.

With a 1.2GHz processor and 1024×600 resolution capacitive touch screen, users will have access to over 300,000 applications in the Android Market, including games, books, social media and news. In addition, the Archos 70b IT will come equipped with 512MB of RAM, WiFi connectivity, HDMI out and a microSD slot. No dimensions were offered, but the device is promised to be very slim, light and extremely portable.

Only $199, Android Market access, capitative touch screen and 1.2GHz processor? At that price, the Archos 70b IT may turn out to be a pretty awesome device for consumers who don’t want to splash down over $500 for a top of the line tablet.

We’ll know more in January when the device hits. Of course, we’ll do all the necessary tests and comparison once we get our hands on this baby.
