A (reluctant) hero is born in the final trailer for Aquaman, which will serve as DC’s answer to Marvel’s electric trio of Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, and Ant-Man and the Wasp.
In the new footage, we get a better understanding of Aquaman’s (a.k.a. Arthur Curry) complicated life, as he struggles to come to terms with his destiny as the king of Atlantis. Not only is it his destiny to become king, but to stop his brother Orm (Patrick Wilson), who wants to start an all out war with the world above.
In addition to fighting against Orm, Aquaman will also have to contend with Black Manta, though we’re not really sure what started their beef. Whatever the quarrel, there’s no denying Black Manta’s (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) suit looks absolutely fantastic.
As the previous trailers have shown, Aquaman is visually spectacular. But is it all flash and no substance? We’ll find out when Aquaman hits theaters on December 21.
