The clock app on the iPad is pretty nice looking, but now it’s pretty apparent that Apple didn’t spend its own time designing it and, rather, may have stolen the design. According to the Swiss Federal Railway service, better known as the Schweizerische Bunesbahnen (SBB), Apple is in violation of its trademarked clock. Take a look at the iPad clock in iOS 6 below and compare it to the SBB one above:

“SBB are the sole owner of the trademarks and copyrights of the station clock,” a report in the Swiss newspaper Tages-Anzeiger said. “The railway company will now seek to [contact] Apple. The aim would be a legal and financial solution.” The railway said the matter was more than Apple just “[making] a copy of the design. MacRumors noted that the Swiss Federal Railway already licenses the clock’s design to other companies, including a watchmaker named Modaine.

We’re guessing this isn’t the last we’ll hear of this report, but it’s likely Apple will settle this out of court.
