The iWork suite of apps—Pages, Numbers and Keynote—and iMovie and Garage Band have been offered for free to Apple customers who purchased a brand new Mac or an iPhone since 2013. But that incentive was cut off to Apple customers who had older devices. They still had to purchase the apps for $4.99 to $19.99 depending on the device they had. It was a confusing breakdown between who got the apps for free and how much you had to pay for the apps. But now the apps are free to all Apple users, no strings attached.

The apps are already available for free today

If you’re an Apple user, you can log into the App Store on either a Mac or iPhone and download Pages, Numbers, Keynote, iMovie and Garage Band free of charge. Just press the “Get” button and the apps will begin downloading. This is a nice incentive for new and existing Apple users, providing some of the company’s best apps free of charge.
