Apple supplier Foxconn has begun its annual midsummer hiring spree ahead of the anticipated production of the 2018 iPhones. First reported by Economic Daily News, Foxconn is hiring new workers for its plants in Zhengzhou, China where it manufacturers iPhones.
The yearly occurrence is a good reference point for production of Apple’s new iPhones. Foxconn and Pegatron, another Apple supplier, have a history of hiring new workers in the summer to begin production of the new iPhones that are normally announced at an event in early September.
It appears this year is no different, but unlike last year where secrecy surrounded the iPhone X and all of the features it would have, we pretty much know exactly what Apple will announce during the September keynote. That is three new models with a iPhone X follow-up, iPhone X Plus and low-cost 6.1-inch iPhone with an LCD display.
Other reports have pegged the the lower cost iPhone model will come in various colors including gold, red and possibly blue and purple.
Foxconn will reportedly manufacture the iPhone X, 90-percent of the new iPhone X Plus and about 75-percent of the new low-cost iPhone.
