Earlier this week, Apple Stores around the world mysteriously started updating their websites to announce they'd be closing early next weekend. The news sparked rumors that the iPad mini with Retina or some other product would be launching that Sunday night, however, it looks like the actual culprit is run of the mill quarterly meetings for Apple's retail staff.

If you're planning on visiting an Apple Store between Nov. 15 and Nov. 19, definitely check online to make sure your local store will be open. The company's retail locations generally close at 9 p.m. each night, but it looks like most will shut down at 6 p.m. instead, cutting a few hours off your potential shopping time.

As for the refreshed iPad mini with Retina, we still don't know exactly when it will launch. Apple was uncharacteristically vague at its press event last month, simply stating the device would be available later in November, so it's not impossible that the new tablet could hit stores soon after these meetings. Last month Target updated its website, pegging the release for Nov. 21, but that date is still unconfirmed.
