Ever since iOS 4 came out there have been complaints that the supposedly compatible iPhone 3G was not playing well with the new operating system.  As the parody video shows above, owners of the second generation iPhone have been less than thrilled, but Apple finally acknowledged last month that it was aware of the issues and were looking into them.  What exactly they would do about it wasn't shared, but it looks like we're finally going to get some sort of answer.

iphone 3gAccording to MacRumors, Apple CEO Steve Jobs has sent out one of his infamous short e-mail replies that address this very issue.  A customer sent the following e-mail to Mr. Jobs:

I've waited patiently through 4.0.1 and 4.0.2, looking for a fix that will make my phone work again. I've read the forums that advise me to jailbreak my phone or use some other method so I can downgrade back to a version of iPhone 3, however I'm not prepared to use a method that is not supported by Apple.

To which the notoriously terse CEO responded:

Software update coming soon.

We know that iOS 4.1 is currently being tested, so we assume that is what he is referring to, but as you can see, we don't have much to go on.  As for a release date, our best guess would be next month when the next iPod Touch is rumored to be releasing, but that truly is just a guess.

As for those of you with iOS 4/iPhone 3G problems, hold on, it appears help is finally on its way to you.
