Apple is reportedly working on redesigning its iTunes Store and App Store for a relaunch that could occur as soon as this year. According to 9to5Mac, Apple is focused on creating an experience that is more intuitive to use, which will allow its users to more efficiently search for apps, music and video content.

The Cupertino-based company hopes the new stores will be more interactive and engaging than the current iTunes Music, TV, Movies and App store fronts, too, although it's unclear how exactly it will execute those plans. Perhaps it will implement a new sharing feature akin to what's available on Spotify or Rdio, but that's purely speculation at this point.

So when can we expect the redesign to deploy? Apple may launch the new store front in tandem with a new iTunes application release, although that is also just conjecture at this point. The new store front could be unveiled later this summer, but 9to5Mac said it's more likely that Apple will unveil the new iTunes Store and App Store during its typical fall music-focused event.

We would love if Apple introduced an option that allowed its users to share their favorite songs with other iTunes users by simply sending tracks to another user's Apple ID. Apple could expand on Spotify's offering by allowing users to quickly share applications, videos and movies, too.
