Apple Pay is officially coming to the web. Once the new feature hits you'll be able to use the service when checking out from an online store, using your iPhone or Apple Watch to authenticate the payment.

This is a pretty huge step forward for Apple Pay. The service is already baked into plenty of apps on iOS. By bringing it online Apple is making it possible to quickly checkout from any online store that supports the feature without worrying about security.

The company's also managed to leverage its Continuity feature to make the service even better. Instead of typing in a long complicated password you can simply use Touch ID on the iPhone or a logged in Apple Watch.

Apple Pay for the web is included in macOS Sierra, so it should be available this fall when the update officially launches.
