Apple Music is going to exclusively announce select category nominees for the 61st annual Grammy Awards on Friday, December 7 at 8:30 a.m. The announcement is part of a special partnership between Apple Music and the Grammys that’s been ongoing for the past few years.
According to Variety, as part of the partnership Apple Music will publish the nominations for select categories at 8:30 a.m. ahead of the full reveal through Grammys.com at 8:45 p.m. Concurrently with their revelation on Apple Music, CBS This Morning will also announce the selection nominations. The specific category nominations weren’t revealed.
Apple has honed in on the Grammys as a great platform to advertise Apple Music and has partnered up with the premiere music awards show for multiple years now. Just last year it curated custom playlists focusing on Grammy nominations in specific categories and released a few Animoji Karaoke ads highlighting nominated songs including Childish Gambino’s “Redbone” and Migos’ “Stir Fry.”
Apple hasn’t released any Grammy specific ads so far, but look for the company to release something as we get closer to the 61st annual Grammys’ telecast date on February 10, 2019.
