A report out of MacDailyNews claims Apple is planning to unveil a Mac Pro update as early as this month, finally appeasing fans who have longed for the Cupertino company to address the fading desktop line. "A source who has been correct about Apple product matters in the past" is allegedly responsible for the report, but as of now there's no way to confirm its authenticity.

It's been roughly three years since Apple updated the Mac Pro in any significant way, so this would be huge news if an announcement is inbound. Evidence, however slight, has suggested newer models were on the way but, for the most part, information has been quite scarce. Apple has been unusually quiet this year, so perhaps we'll see something come out of WWDC 2013, which is scheduled to kick off in June.
