Apple is said to be preparing to launch one of its stores-within-a-store locations inside the world famous Harrods in London.

It has been reported since last month that Apple might be gearing up to open a space inside the world famous Harrods department store in London, but those whispers are picking up some speed with the imminent approach of the iPad 3.

According to a report from 9to5Mac, the Apple area could open sometime during mid-March, which just happens to fall in line with the rumors we've been hearing about the next iteration of the iPad tablet.  It would seem that the two companies may be using the launch of the iPad 3 as a kickstart to their rumored partnership.

Using Harrods as a potential jumping off point for its store-in-store concept it's been using in the United States makes a lot of sense.  Harrods is not set up like a traditional department store as areas tend to very segmented from one another and carry some form of theme.  Dropping an Apple area into the mix would not be an issue at all for the mammoth-sized store, and seeing that it can accomodate as many as 300,000 visitors on its busiest days, it would seem like a very logical place for Apple to try out this concept in the United Kingdom.
