Apple has updated the camera included in its new iPhone 5, and the company said it's thinner than the one found in the iPhone 4S.

Here's a quick list of specs: 8-megapixel sensor, 3264 x 2448 res, backside illumination, hybrid IR filter, five-element lens and f/2.4 aperture for low-light situations.

In addition, Apple said the new camera tech includes a dynamic low light mode, precision lens alignment and sapphire crystal. Also included is a new panorama mode: Just hit a button, swipe the iPhone 5 around and that's it. "It's even able to determine a non-linear path if you're not able to hold it exactly steady," Apple said. It'll also take 1080p HD video with improved video stabilization, face detection, and you can now take photos while recording videos.
