Apple is trying any means necessary to get its original content off the ground. It already scored Steven Spielberg's Amazing Stories anthology series, and now it's turning to Kristen Wiig to lead its next series.

First reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the series will be a 10-episode comedy based on Curtis Sittenfeld's upcoming short story collection You'll Think It, I'll Say It. Kristen Wiig will portray the titular character with Reese Witherspoon's Hello Sunshine production company producing the project.

This will mark the first comedy Apple has greenlit for its original content. It is the third project Apple is producing with Hello Sunshine. The other two projects in the works are Are You Sleeping, a thriller starring Octavia Spencer, and a daily morning show with Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston serving as the hosts.

Apple isn't sparing any expense by going for top Hollywood talent. It only landed the Kristen Wiig comedy series after a serious bidding war with other outlets.

With Wiig onboard, the only details of the series we know is that it'll feature 30 minute episodes. No word yet on when the series is expected to be available to stream.
