Apple has blocked the sale of Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Australia. The deal was made between Apple and Samsung, and prevents Samsung from selling any of the tablets until Australian courts decide whether or not the tablet infringes on Apple patents (Apple claims it infringes on 10).

As part of the deal, Samsung has agreed to not sell or advertise the tablet in Australia until a court ruling has been finalized. Should Samsung win the case, Apple has agreed to pay the company damages for lost sales. Apple claims that the Galaxy Tab 10.1 imitates the look and feel of the iPad and infringes on patents Apple owns pertaining to the device’s touchscreen.

Apple and Samsung are currently in the middle of a similar legal battle in the United States, as well as several other countries.
