Apple VS Samsung-10

Apple and Samsung have been battling it out in court for the better part of the last month. Both sides have had compelling arguments, and the courtroom disagreements became so heated at points that Judy Lucy Koh even asked if the Apple lawyers were “smoking crack.” The two will face a decision from a 10 person jury, but Koh has asked that both firms speak on the phone to attempt to reach a settlement before the jury makes its own ruling. Today, Apple CEO Tim Cook and Samsung CEO Kwon Oh Hyun will do just that, Bloomberg said.

Apple has already asked for $2.5 billion in damages from Samsung. It believes that Samsung infringed on its design patents and created “copycat” products while also infringing on its utility patents. However, the South Korea-based company also believes that Apple infringed on its own patents and is seeking $428.1 million in damages. This isn’t the first time the two firms will meet in an effort to settle the case out of court, however. The two companies tried to reach an agreement before the case began but were unable to do so.

The jury may begin its deliberations on Tuesday if Cook and Hyun do not reach an agreement today.
