Marvel’s first Ant-Man movie was never expected to triumph at the box office, but it was a relative success with viewers. Now, the studio is set to release the sequel on July 6, and if its Rotten Tomatoes score is any indication, Ant-Man and the Wasp will be a big hit.

As of this writing, Ant-Man and the Wasp has an aggregate score of 89-percent, with 51 “fresh” ratings and 6 that are rotten. No movie will be loved by everyone, but it seems people can’t resist the charm of Paul Rudd.

Meanwhile, critics have been quick to praise the addition of Evangeline Lilly’s Wasp, who is said to be a strong and capable superhero. Clearly, Lilly is more than Rudd’s sidekick; it might be the other way around as Wasp comes further into the foreground.

Here’s the critic consensus found on Rotten Tomatoes:

A lighter, brighter superhero movie powered by effortless charisma of Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly, Ant-Man and the Wasp offers a much-needed MCU palate cleanser.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige already confirmed Ant-Man and the Wasp will connect directly to Avengers 4, despite the story featuring much smaller stakes. For anyone invested in the MCU, that should be reason enough to check it out. The film is also important because it’ll put a spotlight on the quantum realm, which could play a role in reversing what happened in Avengers: Infinity War.

Ant-Man and the Wasp hits theaters on July 6.
