Marvel Studios has released two new featurettes for Ant-Man and the Wasp, both of which focus primarily on Evangeline Lilly’s Wasp, who is described as the toughest character in the film. But it’s a bit from Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige who reveals the most important bit of information.
According to Feige, Ant-Man and the Wasp connects directly to Avengers 4, acting as a nice segue before the Thanos story concludes next year. Neither Ant-Man or the Wasp appeared in Avengers: Infinity War, but both are expected to have prominent roles in the next adventure.
Feige doesn’t delve into how Ant-Man and the Wasp connects to Avengers 4, but it’s not hard to guess. With Ant-Man expected to spend a lot of time in the quantum realm, expect Hank Pym’s expertise to become important to Avengers 4’s story.
Without rehashing potential spoilers for Avengers 4, you can read about what to expect from the movie right here. As the featurette above suggests, the quantum realm could be a crucial tool for defeating Thanos—and saving Janet van Dyne.
Early social media reactions for Ant-Man and the Wasp have been overwhelmingly positive, with many highlighting the movie’s humor and action set pieces. The film comes out on July 6.
