Have you seen Ant-Man yet? Chances are you have, but in case you haven’t had the opportunity to check it out, I want to warn you there are minor spoilers here. If you like to go into a movie not knowing anything, well, avert your eyes, click the little X in your browser window. Stop reading. You’ve been warned.

One of the best parts of the movie was when Ant-Man and Falcon duke it out, and although the scene is short, it was a clever way to introduce Ant-Man to another Avenger, and ultimately let audiences know that he’ll begin playing a part in the overall MCU. We already know Ant-Man is going to pop up in next year’s Civil War, and Anthony Mackie, who plays Falcon, had some choice words about the tiny hero’s involvement.

In a recent interview with Cinema Blend, Mackie was asked what he thought of Paul Rudd and Ant-Man, and how their relationship grows throughout Civil War.

“Yeah, our relationship is… yeah [laughs],” Mackie said. “It grows in Civil War. But that’s Paul Rudd, man. Paul Rudd and I just make fun of each other all the time, so it just carries over into the movie. So I respect his (Kansas City) Royals—I’m pulling for his Royals—but we just make fun of each other all the time.”

Mackie’s comments suggest the two will kind of build this wonderful bromance throughout Civil War, and bond over their prior encounter with each other. Mackie’s Falcon actually references Ant-Man in one of the movie’s end-credit scenes, too, further giving us an idea of what Falcon thinks of the character. Falcon may not like Ant-Man initially, but it sounds like the two will build one of the MCU’s deepest relationships.

If you saw Ant-Man, then you already know how well the chemistry worked between the two actors, so it will be awesome to see that explored further in Civil War.
