LG Optimus 3D 2

Mobile World Congress is set to kick off in just about two weeks now and the leaks aren't stopping any time soon. OLED Display on Monday revealed an image of what is purportedly the LG Optimus 3D 2, a phone that many rumors have suggested might make its debut during the trade show.

Early rumors suggested that the Optimus 2 will offer a sharper 5-megapixel 3D camera — the original only offered support for 3-megapixel 3D photos — as well as a 21Mbps HSPA radio, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and support for near-field communications (NFC). We're excited to see if there's any improvement to LG's 3D display technology, since the original device had a bit of an issue displaying 3D properly at different viewing angles. OLED Display also said the Optimus 3D 2 will also offer a high-res IPS screen and that the phone will measure just 9.7mm thick.

LG should have a big presence at MWC. Among other phones, the South Korea-based company is expected to announce the massive LG Optimus Vu, a 5-inch Android smartphone that's also reportedly equipped with an HD IPS display.
