Rovio is teaming up with Hasbro to release Angry Birds: Transformers for a new app game, toy line and merchandise.

It seems that Rovio is finding endless ways to keep the Angry Birds franchise going, and this newest one sees the developers teaming up with Hasbro again. The two companies worked together previously on Angry Birds: Star Wars, so it must have been a fruitful enough partnership to see them take one of Hasbro's most successful brands in this direction.

Not much is known yet about the new game itself beyond the fact that it will feature the Autobirds and Deceptihogs, but there will be a toy factor involved for sure. Hasbro will be releasing a new line of TELEPODS which will let you power up your characters in the game by interacting with the physical toys. A similar mechanic was used when the two companies previously teamed up.

No release date has been announced for the new game yet, but with Transformers: Age of Extinction set to hit theaters in just a few weeks, we imagine the game won't be too far behind.

Rovio and Hasbro team up to present Transformers and Angry Birds in a brand-new mash-up!

Exciting mash-up of two beloved entertainment brands will connect with fans across generations and multiple platforms.

Espoo, Finland, and Pawtucket R.I. — June 16th 2014 — Autobirds, assemble! Rovio Entertainment and Hasbro, Inc. (NASDAQ: HAS) are teaming up again to bring together two of the world's largest and most popular entertainment brands and their fans. Angry Birds Transformers will come to life in multiple forms, including a mobile game, consumer licensed goods and a product line from Hasbro.

Later this year Hasbro will introduce a product line featuring TELEPODS technology which will enable fans to teleport their favorite Angry Birds Transformers characters into the game and gain unique powers. The Angry Birds Transformers franchise follows successful collaborations between Hasbro and Rovio including the Angry Birds Star Wars and Angry Birds Go! product lines, as well as the upcoming Angry Birds Stella TELEPODS line which will be available September 2014. In 2013, the companies announced an expanded licensing agreement making Hasbro its premier toy and game licensee.
