Google has announced that it’s given Android Device Manager a new name. Going forward, the feature will be known as Find My Device and will exist alongside the other tools in Google Play Protect, a suite of services showcased during I/O 2017 that help you secure any Android device.

“One of the biggest security risks you’re likely to face is simply losing your phone. To help in these times of need, we’re launching Find My Device as part of Google Play Protect. With Find My Device you can locate, ring, lock and erase your Android devices—phones, tablets, and even watches,” explains Google.

New features!

To celebrate its new name, Big G has armed Find My Device with some neat new features. For starters, the application will now display information about your handset’s battery level and Wi-Fi connection. It’s also refined the steps required to locate your device from within Google Search.
