Soon we’ll know the name of Google’s next version of Android, at least according to statements made by the team’s lead to Bloomberg Businessweek recently. Leading up to the event, however, a site called Nixanbal says it has learned the name of Android 5.0 ahead of time. What is it?

That’s apparently the name anyway, though for all we know it could be a complete shot in the dark. After all, there aren’t a whole bunch of dessert names out there that seem to fit very well, and our readers agreed in a survey that Lollipop seems to fit best. A full step up to Android 5.0, instead of Android 4.5, suggests some major changes indeed.

Unfortunately the site wasn’t able to provide any details on what Android 5.0 Lollipop will offer. TechnoBuffalo already has boots on the ground in San Francisco at the Moscone Center, and we’ll be bringing you everything you need to know starting at 9:00 a.m. Pacific, Noon Eastern.
