Amazon Prime is already a pretty sweet deal, offering free two-day shipping, unlimited video and music streaming, and more for just $99 per year. But this weekend, the company is dropping the subscription fee by more than 25 percent for just one day.

This Saturday, Amazon is offering up Prime subscriptions for just $72. We assume the price will jump back up to $99 after your first year of service, though it's possible this could be some sort of lifetime discount. We've reached out to Amazon for clarification, and we'll let you know if we get an answer.

If you're not interested in Amazon Prime, even at a discount, the company still has something for you this Saturday. For one day online you can watch the Golden Globe-winning first season of Transparent without a subscription. Normally you need a Prime membership to watch the show, but this weekend Amazon is making an exception. We watched season one recently and it's pretty amazing. So definitely check it out if you have the time.

Of course, one day probably isn't enough to watch the entire first season. So if you find yourself hooked on Transparent after the first few episodes it might be time to give in and subscribe the Amazon Prime while this discount is still available.
