Amazon Kindle Phone - In HandIt seems those Amazon smartphone rumors aren't unfounded as initially thought. In addition to a few new Kindle Fire models, the company will reportedly unveil an actual real life smartphone running the company's forked Android OS at its LA event on Thursday, Sept. 6.

According to The Verge, the device is still in an unfinished state, but the company is eager to show off what it's been working on. If we do see any handset announcement tomorrow, don't expect too many spec details or release info. Instead, it'll likely be a move to whet the palette of the tech masses. But can an Amazon smartphone really compete against the likes of a Galaxy S III and iPhone 5?

The device will allegedly come equipped with Nokia Maps, which has also been linked to the new Kindle Fire(s). There's not much to go on as of now, but The Verge is typically a pretty reliable source, so we could very well see an Amazon smartphone at tomorrow's event.

Either way, TechnoBuffalo will be on hand to bring you all the latest Kindle Fire and Kindle (blank) news when it hits. Any guesses as to what the device will be called?
