Sony is putting a new focus on mobile products, including smartphones and tablets, which means we will likely see a successor to the Xperia Tablet Z (pictured above), likely the Xperia Tablet Z2, sometime later this year. Earlier today we ran a story covering some of the leaked specs, and now a photo has appeared.
The photo doesn't reveal much. In fact, it almost doesn't reveal anything at all and could easily be mistaken for the Xperia Tablet Z. That suggests that, like with its phones, Sony isn't changing its hardware design very much as it introduces new products, instead putting a focus on software and internal hardware. The Xperia Tablet Z2 will allegedly offer a Snapdragon 800 processor, a 10.1-inch display, an 8-megapixel camera, a 6,000mAh and a water-resistant design. We can't tell much from the software angle of this leak, but we can see it will certainly come with Sony's suite of mobile services installed, including PlayStation Mobile.
We still don't know when to expect the Xperia Tablet Z2. Oddly, @evleaks, the source of the rumor, keeps referring to it as the "Xperia Z2 Tablet" instead of calling it the Xperia Tablet Z2, which follows the naming scheme introduced with the Xperia Tablet S and Xperia Tablet Z. Hopefully all of this is made clear in the near future.
