The Alcatel OneTouch IDOL 3, a competitor to the OnePlus One with a price tag at $249, is about to get its first big update, and it’s one that you’re going to want to apply.

In an email to TechnoBuffalo, Alcatel said the update marks its “commitment to support” its flagship smartphone and includes refinements to the camera software to help boost performance and software tweaks that will improve the reliability of the phone’s “double-tap to unlock” feature. Alcatel said it will also feature general tweaks that should boost the performance for users.

The update will be sent over the air and is scheduled to hit in the coming days, so keep your eyes peeled.
