Acer Liquid Gallant

Acer has unveiled a brand new smartphone today called the Liquid Gallant, which the company will be showcasing at IFA 2012 in Berlin later this month. Powered by Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich, the device sports a 4.3-inch display, and optional dual-SIM functionality.

I say optional because there are two different versions of the Liquid Gallant: The regular Liquid Gallant, which will only take one SIM card; and the Liquid Gallant Duo, which can deal with two simultaneously. This allows you to use the handset for personal and professional life, fielding calls from your colleagues and your loved ones without having to manually switch SIMs or carry two devices.

Aside from this, both handsets are exactly the same. They sport a 4.3-inch 960 x 540 display, and a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with an LED flash. Acer has also chosen to put the Liquid Gallant's power button on its back because the company feels this makes it easier to wake the device up when taking it out of your pocket.

Acer has remained quiet regarding the rest of the handset's internals, but it has revealed the device will be available in "gentle black" and "ceramic white" when it launches. The Liquid Gallant Duo will go on sale in September, following by the single-SIM variant later on.
