Apple already told us that the new fourth generation iPad has a dual-core A6X processor with a quad-core graphics chip, and it even said that it’s twice as fast as the third generation iPad. Now, those claims appear to be true.

In fact, according to new benchmarks performed by Primate Labs, the fourth generation iPad is more than twice as fast as the third generation device. The results above show a GeekBench score of 1,757 for the fourth generation iPad, a score of 1,571 for the iPhone 5 and a score of 791 for the third generation iPad. Not bad, not bad at all.

Will you be picking one up when it launches on Friday?
